Scope of Work
The project focused on the full restoration and re-varnishing of the yacht’s exterior wooden pool deck. As a high-use leisure zone, the area required precise surface preparation, tone correction, and the application of a marine-grade 2K varnish system to restore appearance while ensuring long-term protection against UV and moisture.
Restoration Process
Assessment
Detailed inspection of all wooden deck boards and edge trims, identifying wear patterns, UV damage, coating breakdown, and moisture-affected areas requiring correction.
Surface Preparation
Careful sanding, masking, cleaning, and surface conditioning were carried out to remove degraded coatings and create a uniform base for proper adhesion and finish consistency.
Varnish Application
Application of Kemichal marine 2K varnish system, selected for its UV resistance, clarity, flexibility, and durability in exposed superyacht exterior environments.
